Editor to editor messages should not be placed in article spaces[edit]

Editor to editor messages should be placed on the Talk page -- That is what talk pages are for!!

Therefore {{dablinks}} ought to be placed on the talk page not in article space. If the bot was to write at the top of an article "This article currently links to a large number of disambiguation pages (or back to itself) Please help direct these ambiguous links to articles dealing with the specific meaning intended." it would be deleted or moved to the talk page. Placing in a pretty box does not change that.

A few maintenance templates such as {{unreferenced}} serve a dual purpose of informing editors and warning readers of possible dragons in information contained on a page and as such are justified for that reason. But this one clear is of no direct benefit to the reader and as an editor to editor message ought to be placed on the talk page.

Boundary conditions[edit]

The FAQ seems to indicate action at 4 / 7 dablinks, however it appears the boundary is now 25 so does the FAQ need updating?Djm-leighpark (talk) 09:54, 2 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]
