My take on the hook would be
ALT0a: ... that film Scout's Oath documents the impact of a professional scouter's coming out as a gay man in California?* ... that the documentary Scout's Oath focuses on the aftermath of a professional scouter coming out as a gay man?'Kickstarter desciption
Interesting film on an interesting story, and I wonder if the film should be the article title, - it's almost more about the story. Please make some redirects. Fine sources, no copyvio obvious. - Please give the image a caption, - that could be any man mentioned. What is kickstarter? I don't Executive should be upper case. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 11:15, 28 August 2020 (UTC)
@Gerda Arendt: thanks. I took your suggestions to heart. --evrik (talk) 04:24, 29 August 2020 (UTC)
  • Thank you, Evrik. Now we first need some things fixed in the article, unless we make it two, - perhaps after DYK. No italic title. Better header (if at all) for Current. Chronological narration. Image to first infobox. More lead, not leaving the incidence as the only thing we say about him. - In a hook, I'd prefer the easy "gay" to the longish "sexual orientattion". No link to the film unless you split. - Will look later, not quite awake yet. - Mandarax, an article has been moved, - please work you magic! --Gerda Arendt (talk) 07:40, 29 August 2020 (UTC)
Done. MANdARAX  XAЯAbИAM 07:54, 29 August 2020 (UTC)
  • I can't remove the italics. Removed the "current" header. Working on the lead. Substituted gay for SO. I don't see a link to the film. Looking for a free image. --evrik (talk) 16:52, 29 August 2020 (UTC)
I said I wasn't awake, - right, no link to the film. The italics come with infobox film. Can you please find out what to do? I'm not familiar with that one, but know from infobox opera. Much better already. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 19:18, 29 August 2020 (UTC)
Italics turned off. --evrik (talk) 19:22, 29 August 2020 (UTC)
Thank you! Almost there, I like the bio narration and the film. Perhaps have locations for the film before quoting a critic? Please find room to mention the film, with a bold name as redirect, in the lead. I wonder if - unless you move the pic to Lanzi's infobox - you want to have both infoboxes in a row, to avoid extra whitespace, and show his face sooner. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 19:32, 29 August 2020 (UTC)
    • Made some more changes. I'm not comfortable moving the image for fear it gets nom'd for deletion. If you want to make cosmetic changes, please do. --evrik (talk) 02:26, 30 August 2020 (UTC)
Thank you. I just bolded the redirect in the lead, - that's no cosmetic. Pic placement is up to you. I find the white space next to the refs a bit odd, but won't change. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 07:56, 30 August 2020 (UTC)
  • Tagged for WP:GNG. Returned from prep. Yoninah (talk) 19:02, 5 September 2020 (UTC)
The article began as about a film about a person. I wonder if we should return to that. What do you think, Nikkimaria? No doubt about coverage of the film. I feel sorry for you, Evrik. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 19:45, 5 September 2020 (UTC)
  • As mentioned on the article talk page, if there's anything notable here it appears to be the incident rather than either the film or the person. Nikkimaria (talk) 19:48, 5 September 2020 (UTC)

There are scores of web hits and news stories on the guy. LA Times, LA Business Journal, etc. He ran for office ... and there is the film. --evrik (talk) 05:16, 8 September 2020 (UTC)

Article no longer tagged. A full review is needed again. Thanks VincentLUFan (talk) (Kenton!) 08:35, 13 September 2020 (UTC)
  • Full review: The subject himself appears notable with reliable sources, apart from the film. New enough, long enough, well referenced, neutrally written, no close paraphrasing seen. ALT1 is sketchy, though. The Kickstarter description says the film has a broader focus on the Boy Scouts of America's anti-gay policy using Lenzi as an example. I wonder if you could offer alternative wording that encompasses more of the topic. You needn't use the name of the film, as it doesn't have a link. Please remember to add an inline cite for the hook fact(s). Also, if the film was released, isn't there a review that says what it's about, other than using a Kickstarter campaign from 2014? QPQ done. Yoninah (talk) 15:38, 13 September 2020 (UTC)
  • Thank you. But the hook almost seems like two hooks; it could easily be ended at the period. Yoninah (talk) 18:46, 14 September 2020 (UTC)
  • Thanks for the alts. I really feel ALT3 has the punchiest wording. That legally fired tidbit adds a lot. ALT3 hook ref verified and cited inline. ALT3 good to go. Yoninah (talk) 20:16, 14 September 2020 (UTC)
