"researched" sounds a bit off in this use.

• New enough. Long enough. NPOV. Looks well-cited, but few of the refs are available online, apart from short abstracts, including the two in support of the hook, although some of the journal ones may be forthcoming. The original hook seems to overstate things and EEng's ALT1 appears more appropriate. However, the article states that it is the hexane in the seeds that may be useful for controlling diabetes, and hexane (per our WP article) seems to be widely and cheaply available from other sources. I'm no chemist, but this claim for the melon seeds doesn't seem to stack up.

Spot checking for close paraphrasing throws up some issues. Looking at source 6, the odd phrases "hen meat" and "wind dampness" are copied, so I'm sceptical about close paraphrasing elsewhere. Looking at source 1, the abstract has "Molecular polymorphism studies suggested that Cucumis melo vars. makuwa and conomon are derived from small seed type melon in east India" The article uses "It has been suggested based on molecular polymorphism studies that the Korean melon originated from a small seed type melon in East India." Made a few changes. Hexane extract means hexane was used to extract fat-soluble substances from the seeds (ex. linoleic acid). LittleT889 (talk) 03:31, 13 July 2014 (UTC)

The specific paraphrasing examples noted have been addressed. The article sentence, "Research suggests that the hexane extract of the seeds could be used as a way to control type 2 diabetes." remains unchanged. You will need to expand the article to include the explanation you set out above. Edwardx (talk) 12:22, 21 July 2014 (UTC)

Thank you for expanding the hexane extraction stuff. I agree with EEng that the original hook seems to overstate the case, so I'm striking it in preference for the ALT1. Edwardx (talk) 13:35, 24 July 2014 (UTC)
