English/Japanese website[edit]

@Dissident93: The English website is just a "coming soon!" type of placeholder, with no information, art, music, etc. Is it really helpful to list this instead of the Japanese site? I'm all for only using the English one once there actually is something on it.--IDVtalk 12:03, 19 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]

  • As long as somebody keeps checking on it, I suppose it's fine. ~ Dissident93 (talk) 12:05, 19 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]

A note about the Oprainfall source used in the article[edit]

That is, this source. It should be okay as a self-published source - Aksys links to it, so we can be assured that it's genuine.--IDVtalk 11:40, 26 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Publishers[edit]

@Dissident93: I don't mind if you change the wording or presentation, but your recent edits are incorrect - the console versions are indeed published by Aksys in the West and Spike Chunsoft in Japan, but the PC version is published by Spike Chunsoft in all regions.--IDVtalk 10:57, 26 June 2016 (UTC)[reply]

How to handle a certain character in the character section (spoilers, naturally)[edit]

(if you want to avoid spoilers, don't read this thread)

How do we handle Sean? He isn't Q, and is never even referred to as Q in-game. Calling him Q like we do now feels wrong, but I'm unsure about calling him Sean when introducing him.--IDVtalk 12:43, 31 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Hm, I've thought about that too. Honestly, I think it's for the best that we just refer to him as Q until the plot twist is revealed. Plot sections should usually cover the events of the game in order, and since the revelation of the real Q doesn't come until the end of the game, I think it's fine to just refer to him as Q. I was trying to think of other games that have a plot twist similar to this, but I couldn't think of anything. This game does something similar, with the main character revealed to not be who the player thinks they are, but unfortunately in that game, they refer to the character by name, unlike in Zero Time Dilemma. Long story short, I think it's fine to leave it as is. From what I remember, the plot twist is essential to the story, so revealing the plot twist out of order would be incorrect. All right, let's go with that then, unless we come up with some other solution. (also, I'm only on MGS1, so no spoilers please)--IDVtalk 17:58, 31 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Oh, sorry about that... my apologies. Famous Hobo (talk) 18:04, 31 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Don't worry about it - I prefer going in without knowing anything, but what happens happens, and I don't really know anything about the circumstances around that plot point in MGS5.--IDVtalk 18:11, 31 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]
