Merge discussion[edit]

Several "local chapters" of the Youth climate movement have their own wikipedia articles. The "story" of the movement can however be best told comprehensively in a single article. Moreover, for those individual articles it is hard to meet notability guidelines (Wikipedia:Notability (organizations and companies)) on an individual basis so this is the best way to safeguard information of them on wikipedia. I see no reason to merge Australian Youth Climate Coalition into this article. There are numerous movements in many countries, and we can expect that number to increase. An article for Youth Climate Activism world-wide could be created with a redirect to here. --Greenmaven (talk) 06:29, 23 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Alternative Solution[edit]

An alternative solution would be to create a series box linking to various climate related youth movements across the globe. Articles about climate related events, actions, policy changes instigated by youth movements, etc may also be included in such a box. The "story" of the movement, if to include all national movements, would be exceedingly lengthly. Therefore, it would perhaps be better to include information about less "notable" ones in the main article about the international movement, and have separate pages for national or regional organizations that meet the notability guidelines. As "less notable" organizations grow, their sections may also be spun off to separate pages, all pages being linked via the series box. --Swift Arrow (talk) 07:19, 1 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]
