Moving unsourced material here. Megalibrarygirl (talk) 19:53, 7 September 2017 (UTC) She immigrated to the U.S. for graduate school, where she began writing to reconnect with China. Compestine earned her B.A. in English Literature from the Central China Normal University in Wuhan, China in 1984. [citation needed][reply]

Compestine obtained her CDR Associates Certified Mediator certification in Boulder, CO in 1988. [citation needed]
