Comments[edit]

I created this page not as some promotion, but only because YB Music has unarguably been in the center of the new Brazilian music for the past 10 years. Many articles in the Brazilian newspapers and magazines have already mentioned its relevance to the music. Therefore I suppose it meets Wikipedia's criteria as to its notability in its field and in Brazilian modern culture. Music4theworld (talk) 18:46, 18 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

It may not have been your intention, but it reads like a promotional piece. It also has way too many external links and no cited references. – ukexpat (talk) 18:52, 18 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Ok, I understand your point. I edited the text quite significantly (at least to my reading). As for the external links, none of them take to the company's website. Instead, they take mostly to the All Music Guide website, which is a respected source of reference when it comes to music, used by many websites and services, including iTunes and Amazon. Does this clarifies everything? It's my first article, so please pardon me.Music4theworld (talk) 19:20, 18 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Please read the external links guidelines. If you are intending to use them as citations, please take a look at WP:CITE. – ukexpat (talk) 21:52, 18 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Did a major clean up in the external links. Since this is a Brazilian record label, many of the links associated are on the Portuguese version of Wikipedia, which should not jeopardize its notability. Music4theworld (talk) 13:16, 22 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Many changes were made to the text and, by this time, several different music critics, from the most relevant newspapers and magazines (such as Folha de Sao Paulo, O Globo and Rolling Stone magazine) in Brazil have listed some of the albums released by YB Music among the most important albums of last year and even the decade. This speaks for itself as for the notability of YB Music in its context, which is one of the most appreciated things from Brazil: its music. So I think it should be time to remove the issues raised, please. [User:Music4theworld|Music4theworld]] (talk) 17:04, 21 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Any news on this? talking about notability: the label released 60 + records, won two times one of the most respected prizes in arts in Brazil (the APCA) , released 2 of the 10 Best Albums of 2010 by Rolling Stone magazine brazilian edition - Tulipa - 1st -and Nina Becker -9th (http://www.rollingstone.com.br/imagens/22730/em/textos/4528/tulipa-ruiz) and is being pointed as epicenter of a new music scene in Sao Paulo.--2sambabom (talk) 18:55, 1 March 2011 (UTC)2sambabom[reply]
The cleanup on this article, as the changes in use of external links were quite notable since the early tags (nov 2010). About the notability issue, a quick look on the number of releases of original and culturally significant music would talk by itself. Unfortunately, there's a lack of references in English about the new Brazilian music and cultural scenes that we could use in the article to reference it; but that's exactly what we are trying to do here - to start establishing reliable information and reference on the web. The points I put above (march 2011) should be also noted please..--2sambabom (talk) 19:02, 28 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Hi any news on these? I can't understant the notability issue of a label with 77 releases, many of them configuring the new Sao Paulo music scene itself. I do believe that the major cleanup / style rework is already done; the text is substantially different from the first versions, when it was tagged. But feel free to five your inputs on this and I'll be happy to work on it and put a bit of brazilian music and pop culture on wikipedia; thanks--2sambabom (talk) —Preceding undated comment added 14:25, 21 May 2012 (UTC).[reply]
