Apparently still broadcasting an analog signal?[edit]
It appears that despite basically being in the San Diego-Tijuana market, XHDTV-TV may still be operating in analog on channel 49 (in addition to the digital broadcasts on channel 47 it has provided the past few years). This document(in Spanish) apparently says that while the Tijuana stations ended analog broadcasting in 2013, XHDTV is slated to do so in 2014! (This might be because technically it's a Tecate station. While many of the cities transitioning this year appear to be doing so on May 29, it looks like Tecate, i.e. XHDTV, is in the same boat as the Mexicali stations and will have to wait until November 26 to turn off the analog transmitter.) Further, the January 31, 2014 list of Mexican TV stations(in Spanish) shows both XHDTV-TV and XHDTV-TDT; the Tijuana stations only have their TDTs (as Mexico calls its digital television stations) shown. (For what it's worth, the FCC's public notice about Entravision filing to renew its permit to provide XHDTV-TV's programming continues to mention both the analog and digital facilities as if nothing happened.) It also seems that when the Tijuana stations shut down analog signals in May 2013 (only to return after two days because it happened in the midst of an election season; they flipped the switch for good that July), XHDTV continued its analog channel 49 broadcasts as usual. All this seems to suggest that XHDTV is not digital-only just yet, and the article should reflect this… and that means perhaps the article should be moved back to XHDTV-TV as well? --WCQuidditch☎✎ 02:34, 10 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]
