Cancelled?

Hmm, cancelled or not? @Koavf: Putting this on your radar since you made some early edits to this article. Thanks! ---Another Believer (Talk) 17:30, 29 April 2019 (UTC)

Sources for "Notes" section?

Resolved

Do the cancelation dates in the "Notes" section need inline citations? ---Another Believer (Talk) 18:11, 1 August 2019 (UTC)

I added them all. The references for everything were already in the article. I added a new separate ref for the Santana cancelation because the Variety ref only mentioned their cancelation in passing. Doc StrangeMailboxLogbook 18:26, 1 August 2019 (UTC)
Doc Strange, Thank you. ---Another Believer (Talk) 18:29, 1 August 2019 (UTC)

Status

@Doc Strange: Thanks for staying on top of the festival's status and updating accordingly. I'm sure there will be additional post-mortem press coverage, but the current article seems generally accurate and complete. You might even consider Good article nomination at some point -- a quality article about an event which never happened! :) ---Another Believer (Talk) 19:02, 31 July 2019 (UTC)

Thanks! I stayed on top of this partly because this story kept taking so many unexpected, weird turns and I felt most of it needed to be documented. What a strange series of events this has turned out to be! I will consider your suggestion of a GA nomination. I think this not be far off from making the requirements for one. Doc StrangeMailboxLogbook 19:32, 31 July 2019 (UTC)
Doc Strange, Great, in the meantime I've requested a copy edit from the Guild of Copy Editors, which I always do before going to GA. No pressure or offense, just keeping the ball rolling. Happy editing! ---Another Believer (Talk) 20:02, 31 July 2019 (UTC)

The GOCE review has concluded. @Doc Strange: I hope you'll review changes in detail and make sure you're good with them all. Good luck at the Good article review! ---Another Believer (Talk) 16:37, 19 August 2019 (UTC)

All of them look fine by me, @Another Believer:. Thanks for bringing GOCE on board. Doc StrangeMailboxLogbook 17:07, 19 August 2019 (UTC)

Canceled/cancelation vs. cancelled/cancellation

Resolved

We should be consistent but should we go with one "L" or two? ---Another Believer (Talk) 20:04, 31 July 2019 (UTC)

"Canceled" is now used throughout, apart from the categories. Marking this as resolved. ---Another Believer (Talk) 17:09, 19 August 2019 (UTC)

"Cancellation controversy and change of investors" section

@Doc Strange: 2 things: 1) Might you be willing to rearrange the text a bit so fewer sentences start with "On XXX date..."? I've done this a few times in the article by simply moving the date to the end of the sentence where possible, but I think there's still some repetition throughout. 2) Why does the section end with a claim related to April 15? Should this be moved up? Sorry, these are nitpicky things, but just trying to get ahead of the GOCE and (possible) GA reviews. Thanks! ---Another Believer (Talk) 18:31, 1 August 2019 (UTC)

Also, just realized New York Department of Health are mentioned in the ticketing section. ---Another Believer (Talk) 18:41, 1 August 2019 (UTC)
I moved the April 15 sentence up to meet that first citation. The gist seems to be that the organizers had submitted a mass gathering permit on April 15 but didn't get it approved before the April 22 ticket release date. The fact that they waited until April to get that done was, in hindsight, a harbinger for things to come, so I think both should stay in the article. If you or another editor thinks one or the other ref will do, that's fine too. Doc StrangeMailboxLogbook 19:14, 1 August 2019 (UTC)
All the sentences with "On XYZ date" have been changed save for one or two. I'll figure out what to do with those later. Doc StrangeMailboxLogbook 19:26, 1 August 2019 (UTC)
Doc Strange, No worries, they don't all need to be changed, just mixed up a bit so the sentences don't all read the same. Also, don't want to force language adjustment if changes meaning of sentence. Thanks for your work here. ---Another Believer (Talk) 20:44, 1 August 2019 (UTC)

Location(s)

Don't you think the Location(s) should list all of the potential venues they had and not just the final one.

@Doc Strange: Thoughts? ---Another Believer (Talk) 17:16, 19 August 2019 (UTC)
Watkins Glen should be added, but not Vernon Downs. Based on the references we have in here, it seems like the festival didn't come anywhere close to being held there. Doc StrangeMailboxLogbook 17:23, 19 August 2019 (UTC)
Doc Strange, I'm ok with adding both as long as there are notes indicating "original" and "replacement" venue (or similar wording). Or, I'm also ok with leaving the field blank since nothing came to fruition. ---Another Believer (Talk) 19:37, 22 August 2019 (UTC)
Another Believer, You know, I actually think the latter would be a more accurate choice. It didn't actually happen at MPP. Doc StrangeMailboxLogbook 20:05, 22 August 2019 (UTC)
