The 'philosophy' part is very hard to understand, in English and in German too, by the way. Isn't there a language problem here? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 83.31.179.188 (talk) 16:32, 20 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

This smacks of self-promotion and has a tone that--far from sounding like an encyclopedia article--sounds like the gushing dust-jacket of a book. I wouldn't be surprised if Schirmacher himself wrote the page in MS Word and pasted it in himself, as it burst, fully-clad, from the forehead of Wikipedia. Your second sentance violates the offical policy against making personal attacks WP:NPA and the guidelines of Etiquette WP:EQT which assumes the *best* intentions of an article and the motivations of editors. Just because this biography sounds like a dust jacket to you does not mean an independent editor posted it. (In fact dust jackets would be a reasonable source of neutral biographical information). If you have a complaint about whether this person warrents an entry, please refer to policies regarding WP:AFD. 68.160.140.22 14:24, 14 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Schirmacher is running EGS out of his apartment on the lower east side of Manhattan. There is no New York City campus or building for EGS. Also, when you write a tuition check for EGS, Schirmacher endorses the check himself and deposits it into his personal checking account. There is no separate account for EGS. EGS is NOT ACCREDITED in the USA making all of the degrees they grant to the "graduates" of the school worthless.

I would recommend anonymous user above to read the entry on accreditation for some education on this subject. The United States has no global monopoly on accreditation. That would be pretty absurd. Besides, U.S. institutions recognize degrees from universities accredited outside its national borders. How else would there be foreign faculty and grad students with accredited non-U.S. degrees at American schools? EGS is accredited to award MA and PhD degrees by the Ministry of Education in Switzerland. -- Ultraneko 03:18, 21 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I am working on cleaning up this article, even thought your comment is from February. It looks like he works at the Swiss campus of EGS. I will make sure there are citations for things asserted in the article. Ugly Elephant 03:43, 9 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Unless the un-named editor above has objective proof of this claim, it constitutes a violation of WP:SOURCE. This is particularly important when writing about a living person, as expressed in the offical policy WP:LIVING. The comment above can be seen to violate this policy. Comment about removing this passage invited. (If there is no objection then I will return in a few days and delete). 68.160.140.22 14:24, 14 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

The logic of the person who wrote the following testament is severly flawed

It would be equally "logical" to suggest that (in part because you paid them, in part because other people didn't recognize it) neither studying sculpture with Michelangelo in his private studio, nor sitting with Beethoven at his piano for lessons, would constitute an education.
