I'll second these guys information "The Witch Doctor," song was defintly on "The Muppet Show." Don't believe me? Go to You Tube and type in Muppets Witch Doctor and see what you get. one missing from "cover versions"[edit]

A while back Jerry Springer had a radio show, during one of the shows he played a parody of "Witch Doctor" (might have been called "Spin Doctor"). It made fun of then current president George W. Bush saying he had a spin doctor who told him what to say. I know it exists because I managed to get the second half of the song on a cassette but I can't seem to find it to reference it here. If someone knows what I am talking about and they know the name of the song even if it can't be added here it would be nice to be able to find it tell me at my discussion page. Sped up?[edit]

When I listen to it, the voice of the witch doctor is low, and effect I would expect if someone's voice was slowed. Speeding up a recording of a voice makes it sound higher. SlowJog (talk) 04:31, 22 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]

The guy singing the majority of the song, in normal voice at regular speed, is Seville/Bagdasarian as the character asking for advice from the witch doctor. The witch doctor has only one line, repeated several times: the oo ee oo ah ah part, and that is also Bagdasarian singing (slowly) with the tape speed increased during overdubbing to raise the pitch on the final recording. Swahili?[edit]

I recently had the chorus posted in a comment on Facebook in the form Ooh eeh ooh haa haa ting tang walla walla bing bang. Facebook's translation function identified the language as Swahili, and rendered it as Oh, oh, oh, oh, I will love you. Google Translate doesn't recognise the phrase as Swahili or translate it. Can anyone confirm or refute the translation? Is there any evidence that Bagdasarian took the phrase from Swahili? Or has someone been monkeying with Facebook's translation service?
