Jubilee field[edit]

Was this given to Winnington by Brunner Mond on Brunner Mond's 50th anniversary in 1923? Salinae 23:46, 19 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

The only reference I can find is this [1] which suggests that Winnington Youth Club, on Jubilee Fields, was given by Brunner Mond in 1908.

Old Tom Parr did NOT live here[edit]

The town is popular as the birth-place for the alleged oldest ever person Old Tom Parr who lived to over 150 years old, dying in the 1600s.

The uncited mention of 'Old Tom Parr' is incorrect - his home was in the Shropshire village of Winnington on the Welsh border. I have therefore delected this sentence. Tom Parr's longevity claim is trumped by Yorkshireman Henry Jenkins who died 1670 aged allegedly 169.Cloptonson (talk) 19:07, 14 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]
