Contested speedy deletion[edit]

Not a complete nobody, several Google hits and internal WP links. Should merit at least a stub article. Hqb (talk) 12:40, 17 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

OK, but give me a chance to get the details on the page! Mjroots (talk) 12:47, 17 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I have added categories and a stub (not sure it's the right one though). Hope it was all right to do this. Cheers Paul20070 (talk) 12:49, 17 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

It's looking much better now! Is it still at stub length or can that be removed? Mjroots (talk) 13:28, 17 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I think we could probably remove the stub now. I also hope you won't mind if I do a bit of tweaking to the headings. Paul20070 (talk) 14:13, 17 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

By all means, tweak away. It's what Wikipedia is for, after all! Mjroots (talk) 14:16, 17 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Good job. I agree that the stub tag can be removed. On the other hand, it would be good if more of the information could be explicitly referenced to reliable, published sources, rather than just the norfolkmills.co.uk page, whose very first paragraph claims that the subject lived 1827-1851. Hqb (talk) 14:31, 17 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

The dates on the Norfolk Mills page are dates that WT is known to have been active as a millwright. By the late 1850's, he seems to have been more of a consultant than a practicing workman, the date should read "-1827 to 1851+". Reliable, published sources are quoted on the Norfolk Mills page, and are verifiable. Just trying to save some duplication, that's all.Mjroots (talk) 14:39, 17 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Ah, my mistake on reading the Norfolk Mills bio. (Still, it's not exactly obvious that the dates in the title refer to active years.) Anyway, I've added his birth/dates and a few additional details from the obituary in Proc. Inst. Civil Eng. Hqb (talk) 15:27, 17 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]
