Copyrighted content removed

Most of the content added by Griddle03 was a copyright violation as it was copied verbatim from the Whitworth University website ([1],[2]). I have removed it as per WP:Copyright. The list of notable alumni was copied from the website as well, so I removed the descriptions (which were copyright violations), but left all the names. Therefore, many of the alumni listed may not be sufficiently notable to warrant being there. If someone has the time and interest, it'd be a good idea to go through the list and add descriptions for the notable ones and remove the non-notable ones. ~ Danelo 15:57, 7 August 2007 (UTC)

Students on Wiki?

Is there any way (maybe just in discussion) to compile a list of Wiki users who attend the school? This could be cool for all schools, not just Whitworth. Don't know if it would be allowed under Wiki rules, but could be a fun tool/resource. --JaymzRR (talk) 20:32, 6 September 2008 (UTC)

The best way to do this is to make a userbox template and spread it around. -- Guroadrunner (talk) 05:17, 9 February 2009 (UTC)

Currently, Whitworth College redirects to this article. There is a Mississippi Landmark with the name "Whitworth College," but it doesn't have an article yet (I'm still working on creating the list of ~800). I thought I would raise the question here before I changed the redirect, but I think there should be a {{Seealso}} link on this page once the new article is created. Likewise, the same tag will be shown on the new article. I didn't want to remove the redirect though, without asking. --Dudemanfellabra (talk) 22:01, 9 April 2009 (UTC)

Extremely biased

The student life and academic section both contain advertising-like descriptions. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.16.45.103 (talk) 04:25, 26 May 2010 (UTC)

removing POV tag with no active discussion per Template:POV

I've removed an old neutrality tag from this page that appears to have no active discussion per the instructions at Template:POV:

This template is not meant to be a permanent resident on any article. Remove this template whenever:
  1. There is consensus on the talkpage or the NPOV Noticeboard that the issue has been resolved
  2. It is not clear what the neutrality issue is, and no satisfactory explanation has been given
  3. In the absence of any discussion, or if the discussion has become dormant.

Since there's no evidence of ongoing discussion, I'm removing the tag for now. If discussion is continuing and I've failed to see it, however, please feel free to restore the template and continue to address the issues. Thanks to everybody working on this one! -- Khazar2 (talk) 14:29, 5 July 2013 (UTC)

Pictures of Campus

This school has an absolutely beautiful campus. And there are photos on the internet. How come none of the editors uploaded some photos to make this article look better. Come on people Jovan92 (talk) 10:40, 19 August 2013 (UTC)

What does this mean?

See the bold

Arend Hall—Arend Hall was originally called Washington Hall (the first floor, women in the 60s)

When I attended (1969), the first floor was Washington Hall all right, but was all men. The next year one wing was converted to all women.

In fact that whole section of the article is unclear to me what it really means.

Athletics vs academics

I note that 76 words are devoted to academics (generously counted), 335 words to "Student life", and 1561 words to Athletics.

That certainly cannot be an appropriate balance of coverage.
