Suggestions[edit]

There is some great history in this article. However, I want to suggest a few things.

  • The "planning and development" section is very jargony and reads like something written by a person in city government. It doesn't say anything concrete or specific, just nebulous statements like "recommended updates to the subdivision regulations." I would completely eliminate this section.
  • Watch out for point of view in statements like "...in order to educate residents about the community's rich history..."
  • The historic reading section should be redone as a simple list of specific works with authors and titles. It would be better off at the bottom of the article under the heading "Further reading", following the pattern of other articles. (Additionally, if any of the works in the list were used as sources for the History section, they should be cited as references within the article.)

Changes[edit]

I did a small bit of reworking on the education section, moving the info about school officials to the School District page. I also tried to make a few parts of the article more concise.

I still recommend the "Historic Reading" section be changed to a "Further reading" section at the bottom of the article. It should be just a simple list of specific works with authors and titles. This is a pattern established by other articles. I would do this myself, but I don't have access to these books, so I can't develop such a list (beyond those titles given in the article itself).

Additionally, I strongly recommend eliminating the "planning and development" section. It doesn't say anything concrete about the actual changes implemented, and it really has very little relevance to an encyclopedia article about the city of Whitehouse, anyway. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Kirkman (talk Kirkman 16:07, 24 January 2007 (UTC) [reply]
