Canary Islands[edit]

"WAWA, name given to 'bus' in the Canary Islands" What does this mean? Does that mean that wawa is the Canary word for bus or it's a brand or something else? Avraham (talk) 04:28, 17 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Use of CJ word in English[edit]

I haven't added this to the page yet, not sure how to word it; the Chinook Jargon word, as adapted into English in the region, could mean a conversation, parley or meeting. I've commented on this on the wikitionary page: For an example, though from 1859 and with the archaic spelling "waw waw", see British Columbia History Quarterly from 1957, p. 159 at the top. Wawa Lake[edit]

I didn't add it myself because you would probably call it Wawa Lake, not simply "Wawa". Art LaPella (talk) 04:36, 7 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]
