Rainbow tables and Zn air batteries[edit]
A newer variant of this is to use >64GB near end of life SSDs that have a rainbow table pre written. Also the addition of Zn air (ie hearing aid) batteries can substantially increase the chances of a working device after a long shipping delay and reduce the chances of Customs seizing the package. If the device is also set up to detect a specific target SSID then power can be further reduced.
