WTVN nighttime signal[edit]

Tonight I heard WTVN in London, Ontario, quite clearly. Normally one would expect to get CKTB from St. Catharines on 610 AM. Mjlarochelle 05:18, 26 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Early predecessors and their frequencies[edit]

I can't find evidence of 640 as the frequency for WBAV. The evidence I've found is that before May 15, 1923 the station used th common 833kHz frequency that all tation were assigned, then went to 770, 710, and 1020 before changing its call to WAIU. In turn, WAIU continued on 1020 for a while but changed to 1060 by June '27. -- BRG (talk) 19:47, 8 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Financial Results[edit]

"The manager purchased the station along with channel 6 and changed the calls to WTVN, the existing TV calls. In the end WTVN made more money after expenses than the TV purchase."

NOT TRUE. Former Taft President Lawrence H. Rogers states that WTVN-TV was always a strong performer and the third-most profitable broadcast operation in the entire company, wheras WTVN-AM was losing ghastly amounts of money in the 1960's when Rogers was hired. Likewise, WSYX is said to be Sinclair Broadcasting's most profitable operation.
