Rationale for deletion of disambiguation page[edit]

Per the WP:Disambig page, "If only a primary topic and one other topic require disambiguation, then disambiguation links are sufficient, and a disambiguation page is unnecessary." Since the radio station call letters are the primary identification and the acronym for the Non-governmental international organization which governs most national Scout Organizations is a secondary identification, a hat note is sufficient and requires no more steps than would a disambiguation page for people seeking the organization. - Dravecky (talk) 00:04, 8 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I'm not particularly opposing this, but why do you say "the radio station call letters are the primary identification"? The acronym "WOSM" is used and known all over the world, not just in a tiny part of the USA. --Bduke (Discussion) 00:31, 8 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I'm not saying the radio station is the better known of the two (it's clearly not), just that the World Organization of the Scouting Movement is the primary name of that organization with the acronym WOSM as a secondary identification for that organization. Disambiguation is required to separate radio station WOSM from the scout organization but it's easily accomplished with a simple hat note instead of a separate disambiguation page. - Dravecky (talk) 00:39, 8 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]
This dab page is precisely what they are for and the Scouting WOSM is way better known and actually referred to more as WOSM vice it's full name. If anything, the WOSM page should go to the Scouting org not the radio station. That or leave the dab page as is. RlevseTalk 00:45, 8 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]
  • Agree with Bduke and Rlevse. Closethe speedy. Philly jawn (talk) 01:04, 8 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Since this is clearly not an uncontroversial move, I'll not oppose the closure. - Dravecky (talk) 01:10, 8 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]
