– Judging from the page views, there may be WP:NOPRIMARY for "W. H. Allen", so the disambiguation page at W H Allen should be moved over it. (Although the artist gets a slim majority of views, we don't know how many of those come via broken links.) I'm not sure the best place to move the artist: existing R William Herbert Allen is a WP:NATURALDIS but alternatives such as W. H. Allen (artist) or W. H. Allen (painter) might be considered. The lede for the artist says he 'was invariably referred to as "WH" rather than by his given name' but WP, at least, sometimes uses his full name in articles.

The problem is compounded in that W.H. Allen was created in 2006 as a redirect to Virgin Books and retargeted to W. H. Allen in 2012 without updating the links (mostly in references and bibliographies) to the publisher. I've done that now, and retargeted the redirect to the disambiguation page. I don't think the presence or absence of stops or a space in "W. H." is enough to disambiguate per WP:SMALLDETAILS. All the DAB entries use stops, which is why having the DAB at W H Allen is somewhat unnatural. Of course an alternative would be W. H. Allen (disambiguation). 94.21.78.115 (talk) 16:42, 21 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]

  • Comment. I've added DAB entries for other people called William H. Allen, and the 90-day page views for them all show that the artist does not have a majority of views. So it comes down to long-term significance, really, on whether he is the primary topic. I've also copy edited the article but not in a way that should affect this nomination (just checking refs and things like that). Since "W" could be Walter or Wanda or Wilbur or Winona, any other additions to the disambiguation page would of course only reduce the proportion of hits that the artist gets. Since "W. H. Allen" seems only to be the common name for the publishing company, the engineering company and the artist, it may be better not to include the other entries (i.e. revert my change at the DAB.) 94.21.238.26 (talk) 07:34, 22 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]
  • Support W. H. Allen (painter) per WP:COMMONNAME. We usually use the disambiguator "painter" for artists who were indeed primarily painters. -- Necrothesp (talk) 22:56, 24 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]
