Badly assembled units?[edit]

My family and I went VW-mad around 1969, when I bought my first car, a Beetle, 1959 model. After that, we went through about 8 Beetles, two Kombis, and a Fastback. We always insisted that the car be German-made; the fully-Australian-made units had a reputation for poor quality control.

Was this allegation of poor quality substantiated? Or was it just a Furphy, a bit of VW-owner snobbery? Bluedawe 23:07, 7 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]
