sweeping claim[edit]

All derivatives of this symbol in the twentieth century ultimately derive from its use by the French Armée de l'Air, one of the first Air forces in the world.

I wouldn't question an assertion that the French air force was the first prominent modern user of the vol — but this, that all other recent usage derives from that one, is unverifiable even if true. Let's talk paraphrases. —Tamfang (talk) 05:04, 22 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]
