To merge given that the 2017 renamining indicated continuity between the two organizations. Klbrain (talk) 12:39, 14 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Could someone please look into merging Batanga Media and Vix (streaming service)? They are listed separately on vix (disambiguation) and the articles contradict each other somewhat (for example, the Vix (streaming service) page's infobox says Launched March 30, 2021, while Batanga Media#Name change: Vix.com says In early 2017, Batanga Media announced the change of its name to Vix.com), but both claim to use the same web address (vix.com is a Wikipedia redirect i'm changing now). The Batanga Media article says they used several web addresses, including vix.com (currently the streaming service), Batanga.com (currently redirects to a 404 page on vix.com), and iMujer.com (also currently redirects to a 404 page on vix.com), so there must be some connection between the companies, but i can't commit the time to find out just what it is--if i even could, my Spanish not being terrific and my Portuguese non-existent. --173.67.42.107 (talk) 06:03, 16 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Oppose - Needed to asked in case you're wondering why I have to opposed. Can you explained me why Batanga owned the Vix URL? And also, did TelevisaUnivision acquired Batanga? VernardoLau (talk) 09:44, 21 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
@VernardoLau: The origin story of the ViX is in the Spanish version of this article. Luis1944MX (talk) 22:26, 21 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
After a bit of searching, it seems to me that Batanga is not associated with the current streaming service because there’s seems to be no connection. For example, all Batanga Media Instagram pages have been changed to things like “VIX Mujer” yet every URL leads to a 404. Also, the logo used in these Instagram pages is not the one ViX uses. Also, ViX was previously a steaming service called Prende TV so it seems off to me. None of these VIX branded Batanga Instagram pages have uploaded anything since at least 2021 and PrendeTV rebranded to ViX in 2022. Again, I’m not sure but I have yet to see anything about TelevisaUnivision purchasing Batanga so I’m guessing Batanga simply became defunct and they sold their domain to the streaming service. Batanga Media rewrite[edit]

On top of most the info dump being uncited advertising and marketing crap, most of the information from the Batanga Media section has no relevance to the Vix streaming service as it exists today. I've created a dedicated section for it on the page and refocused the History section on information that's actually relevant to the subject of this article.
