Article improvement[edit]

Hi, My name is Shrinivas K Rao and I work for Virtusa’s Communication team. I have never edited any article on Wikipedia but this. One of my colleagues had brought to our attention on the out-of date and incorrect information currently in the article. My purpose of approaching the community is to present information which would be useful for updating and improving the article. I request the community to go through the information below and edit and improve the article by bringing in relevant information that meets Wikipedia requirements and standards. The sections for improvement, along with new information, include:

(I). Snapshot Box Section on the top right

1.Type – Public NASDAQ: VRTU (Virtusa is a publicly held company and is listed in NASDAQ under the ticker symbol “VRTU”). Please refer to http://phx.corporate-ir.net/phoenix.zhtml?c=211246&p=irol-irhome 2.Vandalism in “Key People” section – The inclusion of “Bachchan pandey, Peon” in the current version is inappropriate and incorrect and is a case of vandalism. The correct version would include only “Kris Canekeratne, Co-founder, Chairman and CEO, Dan Smith, President, COO, and Director”. Please refer to http://phx.corporate-ir.net/phoenix.zhtml?c=211246&p=irol-governance 3.The employee strength is 4265, as of March 31, 2008. 4.The revenue of the company for the fiscal year ended March 31, 2008 is $ 165.20 million. Please refer to: “http://www.thehindubusinessline.com/2008/05/22/stories/2008052251600400.htm

(II). Summary Section

The current version can be improved to include: 1.Virtusa is ISO 27001 certified and is also assessed at SEI-CMMI Level 4. 2.Virtusa provides IT consulting services, general technology and outsourcing services to Global 2000 enterprises across Communications & Technology, Banking, Financial Services & Insurance, High Tech Manufacturing, Independent Software Vendors, Media, Information & Entertainment and Pharmaceutical industries.

(III). Timeline Section

In year 2008, Virtusa received Gold award at Sri Lanka National HRM awards conducted by Hewitt Associates and judged by an international panel of eminent judges. Please visit http://www.nation.lk/2008/03/16/busi6.htm

Hope the above information is useful for improving the article.

Being new to this, I seek the community’s guidance in understanding more about the protocols and the approach a person with Conflict of Interest needs to take for improving the article. Would I breach any guidelines or protocols if I edit any instances of incorrect information as above (vandalism) that come into the article? Can you also guide me on other instances wherein I can edit the article?

Thank you for your time and guidance

While I'm not an expert on the matter, I do believe you can correct instances of vandalism as and when you notice them regardless of any conflict of interest. As for other edits (especially since you are new here) it is probably best if you post your suggested edits here on the talk page first so more experienced Wikipedians can check for possible policy violations. I would also suggest you include a small introduction about yourself on your userpage so other Wikipedians know you are a) authentic b) not hiding anything :) As long as you're honest about where you work and agree that Wikipedia articles have to be neutral I think you'll do fine. Please see the Wikipedia policy on conflict of interest for more. --Kisholi (talk) 00:42, 7 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks, Kisholi. Appreciate your feedback. I look forward to using your suggestions. Shrinivask (talk) 16:25, 20 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Proposed merge with ALaS consulting[edit]

ALaS was bought out by Virtusa Rogermx (talk) 15:08, 15 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]

I agree, the article for ALaS consulting is a essentially a stub in relation to this article and would fit well under aquisitions. The Novac (talk) 18:52, 14 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]
