"Design patents"[edit]

"Design patents" are a concept that only exists in the USA as far as I'm aware. The equivalent in UK law is a "registered design". I suppose it's possible that Dyson took legal action against Vac in relation to a US design patent though. Does anyone know more enough to comment?
