Accuracy about Valentino's death[edit]

Having watched the Ken Russell film to its end, I am left wondering if the boxing and drinking bouts contributed to his death as they appear to hint, the closing credits passing over Valentino's body on a mortuary slab. Were they genuine incidents? (A question best answered by those better acquainted with biographies of Valentino.) The boxing scene has shades of the punch that hastened the death of Valentino's contemporary Houdini, also from peritonitis in New York during the same decade.Cloptonson (talk) 19:07, 30 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]
