A little rationale[edit]

This article is a stub for 'Vacation Time,' a Donald Duck comic book story by Carl Barks from 1950. I will welcome upgrades and improvements, or suggestions I can tackle for the same. My editor graciously offered an initial grade of 'Start' for the page, and I will be considering what I can do to bring up the thing to an acceptable level. Barks needs little justification as a Golden-age comic writer and artist, and many well-remembered stories have already received short pages of their own; but 'Vacation Time' hadn't been done, and given its status as a longer work well-remarked for its visual excellence and its placement in the development of the Duck's distinctive comics personality (as distinct from his screen persona), I felt it deserved this small recognition. I've taken some time today to nip and tuck the presentation vis a vis the Comics style template, and will continue to review and refine. Onundtreefoot (talk) 20:36, 20 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Next steps[edit]

It would behoove me to take the advice of my initial editor and the folks at the Comics Style page, and upgrade my effort here. I think the biggest improvement needed to date is to scan one of the covers I've got of this comic for posting. My education background makes me more cautious than many about copyright and fair use; but I'm relatively content with the idea of featuring the cover. Will proceed as the month progresses...
