Tried to address concerns[edit]

I tried to address concerns regarding the page's tone and the charge of blatant advertising for a company. I cleaned up some of the text in an attempt to avoid anything that sounds overly self-serving.

I do, however, work for the company and believe it's important to have an entry because of the company's historic significance in both evangelical publishing and the African American Christian community. I'm willing to work with anyone who would dispute the page in its present state.

Just let me know what needs to be done to make it satisfactory, as there are many other companies (and a few Christian publishers in the same line of business as Urban Ministries Inc.) with Wikipedia pages that do not seem to be under scrutiny. Those article's probably aren't under as much scrutiny because they don't have people affiliated with the subject working on them.--CyberGhostface (talk) 21:52, 23 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I'm trying to be as transparent as possible. I'm working to change username in accordance with Wikipedia policy. I'm not trying to blatantly promote or sell. I would simply like to include a record here of a significant piece of modern evangelical and African American Christian history. Well, one never knows, but can often catch on fairly quickly if overly promotional language is used like you'd find in a brochure or something. Like "Banks’s boyhood dream began to take shape" – that sounds very glorious, and not neutral at all (besides the fact that it's unsourced), and will have to be changed. --Amalthea^Talk 23:57, 23 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

There have been COI on articles before. Lots of it. But for the most part, important companies are notable enough that someone not associated with it will work on it.--CyberGhostface (talk) 01:22, 24 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Correction to Title Page is need[edit]

The title page should say Urban Ministries, Inc not Urban Ministries. Urban Ministry s a whole theological premise behind it. Readers can get the organization confused with line of thought so in order co bring clarification to the readers it would be good for the title page to reflect the nature of what the page is about... Urban Ministries, Inc. I do believe the company Urban Ministries, Inc should have a page. The company (ministry) has a standing and is well know in the African American Protestant Church across many different Protestant Christian denominations.
