Name of Article

The name of this school is University of the Arts. Does the article need to have "(Philadelphia)" in parentheses? There are places all over the world called University of the Arts, but also included in the name is it's location. Since the name of this college is only University of the Arts and it is unique in that way, why not just "University of the Arts" redirect here, with a disambiguation link on top? 76.19.42.233 (talk) 04:53, 14 August 2009 (UTC)

merge

There is no reason a single academic division of this university should have its own wikipedia entry. The main university page is pretty thin as it is. -- Austin Murphy 16:02, 27 December 2006 (UTC)

NPOV

I added the NPOV template to this article...wording such as "UArts offers a unique environment where students from many disciplines can interact and grow in a vibrant community of creativity." seem like something I'd find in an application brochure from the school. - echidnae 04:03, 29 January 2007 (UTC)

And is the opening sentence "The University of the Arts (UArts) is the nation’s first and only university dedicated to the visual, performing and communication arts." not a bit misleading, given the existence of other institutions such as, eg, CalArts? AWO 00:22, 21 February 2007 (UTC)

I reworked the first paragraph to be what I think is NPOV. Do you think it deserves to have the POV tag removed? -- Austin Murphy 20:01, 21 February 2007 (UTC)
    • Thanks for your editing, the opening paragraph of the article is much better now, and I would say is NPOV. However, there are still parts of this article that are blatantly either taken from advertisements, or are supposed to advertise the school. For instance, look at the sections 'USP and The University of the Arts' and 'Facilities'. They still read like someone from the school wrote them. Again, thanks for your edits, though... -echidnae 23:24, 21 February 2007 (UTC)

Overlap

In the History section, the date box overlaps several words. I have tried to fix it, but have failed. Can anyone find the cause of the overlap?Lestrade 13:48, 6 August 2007 (UTC)Lestrade

WikiProject class rating

This article was automatically assessed because at least one WikiProject had rated the article as start, and the rating on other projects was brought up to start class. BetacommandBot 03:39, 10 November 2007 (UTC)

third academic division

Like Beyond My Ken, and unlike AustinMurphy, I see the third division (Media...) and its merger as sufficiently important to the history to be worthy of mention. Thnidu (talk) 03:03, 13 September 2015 (UTC)

Ed Chiarini claims that he is a UARTS alum on his bio page. ["here".] Ed Chiarini runs the website that claims that mass media is fake and that actors play the role of people we see on tv etc. Anybody remember ED from UARTS?

Do you want my student ID?

Residence Halls--silly

Why would anyone think a description of residence dorms is important? A sentence under Facilities would be enough. For more information, readers can go to the university website.Lmlmss44 (talk) 22:02, 23 August 2020 (UTC)
