University ratings[edit]

(I'm posting this to all articles on UK universities as so far discussion hasn't really taken off on Wikipedia:WikiProject Universities.)

There needs to be a broader convention about which university rankings to include in articles. Currently it seems most pages are listing primarily those that show the institution at its best (or worst in a few cases). See Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Universities#University ratings. Clubs and societies[edit]

This section is a) never going to be exhaustive, and b) going to be prone to non-constructive edits, such as making up societies, or moving societies to top of list etc. Also, it's going to fill up with tonnes of non-notable societies. I suggest either a) removing it alltogether, or b) restricting it to notable societies. I personally think 'a' is the better option, as the list doesn't really add anything to the article anyway. If there are no comments after some time, I'll go ahead and do it. TheIslander 23:19, 19 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Go for it. It's a laundry list and a cruft magnet. — mholland (talk) 23:34, 19 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]
OK then, fair enough - the fact that someone's commented in favour so quickly has encouraged me to be bold and remove it. If anyone disagrees, please discuss it here before replacing it. TheIslander 23:39, 19 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Trivia[edit]

Surely it should be mentioned that this was the place where Led Zepplin first performed live? I remember seeing it on there before. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Jedikv (talkcontribs) 17:08, 11 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
