Recent edits/POV dispute

Recent edits that have been done by Schaibs3, I feel are not neutral. The user is a fairly new one here at Wikipedia, and I've left him/her a message on their talk page asking them to take Wikipedia's NPOV policy into consideration. There were some great things added, but everything needs to be updated to be more neutral. On the upside, I'm glad to see someone has taken an interest in contributing to this article. Diversity Claim

UH-Dowtown does not appear in any of the comprehensive diversity rankings. [1] I am removing the comparitive diversity claim. Dothivalla 05:42, 28 January 2006 (UTC)

Dothivalla: UHD would not be on the chart you cite because UHD is not a "national university" (i.e., it does not offer any PhD programs). If you were to find the correct US News and World Report chart (which might not be available on-line), UHD would be near or at the top of it. Steve Casburn 08:10, 28 January 2006 (UTC)
I appreciate your comments Steve. Thanks for pointing out that UHD is not a Doctorate granting school. Unfortunately all comparitive claims must be cited by a verifiable source. Wiki policy is extremely clear and clearly says that truth is secondary to verifiability. The policy can be found at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Verifiability. The line, as written, cannot stand because it meets the exact definition of an 'Academic Boosterism' comment. The guideline strongly discourages "one of the" language as an example of what we should not be posting. See: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Avoid_academic_boosterism
Long story short, I think we both know that UHD is diverse. As written now, the article states the simple fact. But to claim that UHD is relatively more diverse than other schools needs a cite. Dothivalla 12:49, 28 January 2006 (UTC)

Fair use rationale for File:UHD Logo.jpg

File:UHD Logo.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. New Name Considered

The official report on UH-D's name from Richards/Carlserg states that those from UH-D that oppose a name change opposed it because they "like the fact that the current name is very descriptive and highlights UHD's affiliation with UH". It is only in the presentation .pdf that a statement is made that UH-D name supporters "value the confusion". Its me again. I think I found something that says they have already made the decision. According to this site I found,http://www.uhsa.uh.edu/regents/board_meetings/documents/121208Acad/A&SS%207.pdf, the name selected is Houston Metropolitan University (HMU). They have a scanned pdf letter with the signatures of UHD President Max Castillo and UH Chancellor Renu Khator. I wonder if these are genuine. The official site of UHD has made no mention of it. UHD Admissions Standards

UHD has implemented its new admissions standards for fall 2013; therefore, the statements regarding future admissions standards are out-of-date.
