A bit of cleanup[edit]

I have marked this page for cleanup because of the gap between the "Electoral scores achieved by CDU" header and the actual table marking the election results. My knowledge of wikicode isn't good enough to fix this. Can a lovely individual offer her or his assistence? aliceinlampyland 19:06, 25 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use rationale for Image:Cduportugal.gif[edit]

Image:Cduportugal.gif is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 05:32, 2 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Unitary Democratic Coalition color[edit]

ValenciaThunderbolt and I, Tuesp1985, have been discussing what color to use for CDU in pages and if should it be a single one or not. To not create confusion of colors with other parties, I propose red in election pages, and blue in the coalition page. CDU has no official color, they use blue, red, green, so on and as the coalition is basically PCP and nothing more, I propose the above solution. Open for discussions.Tuesp1985 (talk) 20:46, 19 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]

I will say that the most perplexing thing is that a coalition of the left uses blue for its logo? Very odd. ValenciaThunderbolt (talk) 20:59, 19 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I say it was more an image thing, red was associated with PCP, the change happened in the late 80's when Communism was in downfall and a image change was probably needed. But, like I wrote above, CDU is literally PCP, especially now with only PCP having seats within the coalition. Thus, the change for red in the election pages and blue can remain in this page.Tuesp1985 (talk) 22:35, 19 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Maybe a comprise would be that the red is used on election pages where PCP is the only one that wins seats, while PEV doesn't? ValenciaThunderbolt (talk) 22:41, 19 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Well, PEV only got 2 seats in each election since 1987, in 2022 they got zero for the first time. Plus, in local and regional government, PEV barely gets anyone elected.Tuesp1985 (talk) 22:46, 19 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]
But more than one party won seats in the coalition though in those elections (except for the recent ones). ValenciaThunderbolt (talk) 22:48, 19 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Sure, but like I said, PEV is a satellite party of PCP. They aligned all of their positions with PCP. And having red in 2022 wouldn't confuse comparisons with other elections? 22:53, 19 January 2023 (UTC) Tuesp1985 (talk) 22:53, 19 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I think you are thinking along the lines of Fidesz—KNDP. However, they don't have an official name for their coalition, whereas CDU is a formal coalition with a name and different official colouring from its member parties. ValenciaThunderbolt (talk) 22:58, 19 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]
But, CDU is basically like the Fidesz—KNDP alliance. For example, the PCP leader, whoever he or she may be, is automatically leader of CDU. Also, PCP sometimes uses green, their logo has the green color. I assume this is because of the Portuguese flag as the party, and the coalition, call themselves as the "patriotic left".Tuesp1985 (talk) 23:04, 19 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I suppose we could do the official and customary thing then? ValenciaThunderbolt (talk) 23:05, 19 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Red for election results and blue for the coalition page? Tuesp1985 (talk) 23:06, 19 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Kind of. See this page's colour parametre in the infobox. It would mean that red is used in the module, while the blue is stated as official, and the red is customary. ValenciaThunderbolt (talk) 23:09, 19 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Sorry, just corrected the link :) ValenciaThunderbolt (talk) 23:11, 19 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Sure, that could work.Tuesp1985 (talk) 23:12, 19 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Just sorted it all :) ValenciaThunderbolt (talk) 23:14, 19 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Just a side note, did you also changed the Left Bloc color to red? Darkred is the color used to represent them.Tuesp1985 (talk) 23:21, 19 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I'll change it back. ValenciaThunderbolt (talk) 23:22, 19 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Ah ok. No problem.Tuesp1985 (talk) 23:23, 19 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]
