Chairman Murder[edit]

  • Rather than the edit war that we've seen over the last few weeks, let's discuss civilly whether or not the murder of the former UJS Chairman merits inclusion. Personally, I'm not sure how it is relevant to the organization unless it is suspected or known that the murder was racially motivated. Thoughts? - pm_shef 22:37, 17 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]
The onus is on the editor who wants to add the information. I see it as fairly irrelevant, whatever the motivation of the murder. If there were biographies of all former UJS chairs in this article, it would have a place. Nomist 23:49, 17 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

if the chair was murdered whilst being chair, then it would warrant mentioning, but since it appears they werent, i dont think it does —Preceding unsigned comment added by Gingerpanda (talkcontribs) 13:13, 1 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Deleting Past leadership?[edit]

It seems odd for most of the article to be taken up with past leadership. One does not see this generally in other articles and I question how interesting it is, particularly given that it is a student organisation with limited impact. It might be modelled on Board_of_Deputies_of_British_Jews but that is a more consequential body and the terms are longer. The material is unsourced. The article does not give a reason for its inclusion. Shall we drop it? Jontel (talk) 09:40, 12 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]

@Jontel: I have. I've also cut out some promotional stuff copied from its website. It's been tagged for more sources for 12 years and yet the only sources in it still are the union itself and a student newspaper about an incident this year which seems WP:UNDUE. I'm sure there must be better material that could be in the article. Doug Weller talk 13:50, 12 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Past leadership[edit]

Since the list is chronological in descending order 1941-1942 should be between 1950-51 and 1933-1934 rather than after the latter.

It would be convenient for it to be possible to also have the list in alphabetical order. Mcljlm (talk) 02:39, 7 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]

I've dealt with the chronological problem but the other issue remains.Mcljlm (talk) 04:07, 1 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
