Umney doesn't want to "end both of their existences"[edit]

At the end of the story, he explicitly states "I want my life back. I want things back the way they were." He certainly intends to kill Landry, but having become the author himself, this act wouldn't kill Umney, or, at least, nothing in the story suggests that it would. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 174.49.192.185 (talk) 22:58, 24 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

One Small Point[edit]

Perhaps it's worth mentioning that, as Landry disdainfully tells Umney in the story to show him what a dismally derivative cliché he is, even his name was borrowed from a better writer, the original Clyde Umney being a minor character in Raymond Chandler's last novel "Playback". — Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.143.52.255 (talk) 15:20, 24 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]
