Please note that the statement that all aboard were lost is not correct. The commanding officer, two other officers, and three enlisted men were swept from the bridge as the boat sank and were rescued. Could someone with knowledge of the subject reconcile the contradictory crew numbers? The right-side info box states that each R-class submarine features a “complement [of] 33 officers and men”, yet the “Accident and loss” section describes an R-12 crew of 47, of which 5 survived and 42 were lost. Both (conflicting) numbers, with additional details of each, are found on the source page here, so resolving this question is not simply a matter of checking the cited sources. 50.181.30.121 (talk) 17:57, 25 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]
