Under the 'Loss' section it is stated: "For more detailed and original information about Gudgeon's likely sinking on 18 April 1944, see "Find 'Em Chase 'Em Sink 'Em: The Mysterious Loss of the WW II Submarine USS Gudgeon" and other "Ostlund" references below."

It looks like this line has been present since November 2006, despite the references having been removed in March 2008. While book might be useful as a source, without any citations of its contents in the article it comes across as a bit of a promotional statement.
