Pretty Serious Omission[edit]

"Important Figures" is missing one fairly important figure.....the Sultan. Nowhere on this page is he mentioned by name. I had to look this up elsewhere. Its Sultan Ahmed III, by the way. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 67.142.167.24 (talk) 02:24, 31 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Hmm, should this be Tulip Era? User:Grenavitar] signed in as 129.2.17.155 05:27, 10 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]

nope, definitely "Tulip period" - see many recognised texts on the subject - passerby scholar

Holland and tulip[edit]

It is funny to note that tulip was sent to Holland from Turkey by Ogier Ghiselin de Busbecq in the 16th century and imported to Turkey from Holland just 160 yeras later . Nedim Ardoğa (talk) 18:51, 25 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Illustration[edit]

Are we sure the drawing is of a tulip? It certainly looks nothing like a modern tulip -- neither foliage, nor blossom, nor proportions seem right. I recommend using a more obvious tulip drawing from that period. 134.243.204.95 (talk) 15:00, 10 March 2011 (UTC)samm[reply]
