Untitled[edit]

This type of information about Tuesday Morning needs an update. Tuesday Morning now rarely closes, even during the months of January and July. They close long enough to do inventory, then rush their stores open again. The information contained in the original article is at least three years old. 138.89.62.193 21:05, 14 September 2005 (UTC)[reply]

  • Maybe "frequently" isn't the right word, but the company's annual report filed with the SEC for 2004 specifically states that the stores are closed for the first few weeks of January and July. The "rarity" statement was picked up from the original version, though one might argue that there aren't too many retailers who just up and close regularly for periods of 2 or 3 weeks (most recently this past July). More recent info, if you have it, is always welcome; for example, the number of stores is apparently now closer to 700 than 600. - Hedgey42 06:43, 15 September 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Actually tuesday morning now only closes on the first two weeks of January and July to do inventory, restocking is done year round by the staff.

Fair use rationale for Image:Tuesdaymorning logo.gif[edit]

Image:Tuesdaymorning logo.gif is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 05:14, 5 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Source of the Name[edit]

Why is there no explanation in the article of the rather unusual name of this store? — DIEGO talk 00:53, 12 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]

This is from the official website "Tuesday Morning is a standardized, centrally driven, multi-channel, low expense national retail chain specializing in both domestic and international closeouts of medium to high-end name brand gifts, soft home, home furnishings, housewares, luggage, toys, seasonal items, gourmet food and fashion accessories for men, women and children.
Our roots were planted in 1974 when founder Lloyd Ross held his first "garage sale." Ross decided on Tuesday Morning as the company name because "it is the first positive day of the week."
