Red weapon power level three (rainbow circle shot vs. wider forward spread): Are there two versions of the arcade game Truxton/Tatsujin?[edit]

I know the Sega Genesis port has the red weapon power level three as what the back of the cartridge storage box refers to as the "rainbow circle shot". In fact, the article references this red weapon power level three as sort of being like a shield.

I'll also explain the rainbow circle shot in more detail. In the Sega Genesis port, when the red weapon reaches power level three then the side pods emit circular rainbow colored lasers that act like a shield against an enemy ship ram attack without providing any enemy shot protection. But, I didn't see this at all when I played Midway distributed arcade version cabinet of Truxton--red weapon power level three is just a wider forward shooting spread providing absolutely no defense from the sides of the back of the ship against an enemy ship ram. Videos seen of the PC Engine port of Truxton also show the wider forward shooting spread, no rainbow circle shot was visible at any time.

So, is the rainbow circle shot just an exclusive change for the Sega Genesis port? Or do two arcade cabinet versions of Truxton/Tatsujin actually exist? Either way, I think the article should be clarified or corrected as needed regarding this rainbow circle shot. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 69.19.255.132 (talk) 05:14, 22 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]
