Contested deletion[edit]

This page should not be speedily deleted because... (It is an objective description of the company) --MikeYates (talk) 11:13, 14 November 2015 (UTC)[reply]

I do not see any objective, or any description at all. Was it blanked?
Why not try to write an encyclopedic article, not a promotional one, in your sandbox and then submit it when it is ready. If it is worthy, no one is going to delete it.
Good luck! MarkYabloko 11:28, 14 November 2015 (UTC)[reply]

I've commented on your talk page, but I'll copy here a response to the previous question you left on this talk page prior to deletion:

The content from www.tristarworldwide.com is reproduced with the owner's permission. I am a retired employee of Tristar Worldwide Ltd and I have been requested to create this page by them because Wikipedia rules prohibit serving officers of the company to do so. Please let me know if I need to quote their permission here? --MikeYates (talk) 10:58, 14 November 2015 (UTC)[reply]
To directly address your question regarding copyrights, please see Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials#Granting us permission to copy material already online -- in short you would need the text concerned to be explicitly made available under an appropriate license. That said, please remember that Wikipedia is an encyclopedia, and material published must be written from a neutral point of view, in an encyclopedic fashion with appropriate references, and the subject of articles must meet relevant notability guidelines. Regarding having been "requested to create this page" I would also advise you read Wikipedia:Conflict of interest. UkPaolo/talk 11:19, 14 November 2015 (UTC)[reply]

I'd echo MarkYabloko's advice above: write an encyclopedic article, in a neutral point of view, backed up by appropriate references, and making clear the notability of the company as per the guidelines at WP:ORG. If you do so, no-one will delete the article. UkPaolo/talk 12:20, 14 November 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Agreed, and also make sure you declare your interest, as described at Wikipedia:Conflict of interest. It may take a little while to track down your sources and knock the article into shape, hence MarkYabloko's good suggestion of building it in your own Sandbox. If you have questions, I suggest that any of the editors mentioned here would be willing to help where they can. We all remember what it is like to be new to all Wikipedia's rules, and would prefer this be turned into a good, robust article. If the current "speedy deletion" proposal succeeds, you can ask an Admin to put a copy of the deleted article into your user space so you can work on it.--Gronk Oz (talk) 13:36, 14 November 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Notability[edit]

MarkYabloko taggged this article for Notability when it was just a few lines with almost no references. Now, due to a co-operative effort which also included UkPaolo, the article has been expanded considerably. There are references to BBC news, Financial Times, Daily Telegraph and industry journals. There are awards from the Queen’s Award for Enterprise, from the Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents and from industry bodies. I think we can safely remove that tag now - any dissenters? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Gronk Oz (talkcontribs)

@MikeYates:: pinging you, as you are the original author.
@Liz:: also pinging you because you had earlier tagged the article for deletion.
Great work, Gronk Oz. I would be happy for the notability tag to be removed. UkPaolo/talk 08:38, 15 November 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks[edit]

Many thanks indeed, UkPaolo and others! --MikeYates (talk) 09:25, 15 November 2015 (UTC)[reply]
