Trillium hibbersonii[edit]

What should we do about this entity? The article as it stands describes this as basically (A) a dwarf form with an accompanying petal color variation that occurs throughout the range of the main species. But other sources (e.g. O'Neil et al. (2020) and citations within) point out that (1) the evidence that this form exists anywhere other than Vancouver Island is lacking and (2) there is a distinct entity (B) apparently endemic to a small region of Vancouver Island with several other important morphological and molecular-phylogenetic differences from T. ovatum. To me, the point that the stigmas extend beyond the anthers in (B) is particularly striking. Doppelbrau (talk) 21:36, 18 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]
