due to the backlash against musicals[edit]

Shouldn't this be explained? Nitpyck (talk) 16:10, 15 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Top SpeedTop Speed (film) – Surprisingly, we don't have an article about "Top speed", "Maximum speed" or "Maximum velocity". Still, even without an appropriate target, this film isn't the WP:PRIMARYTOPIC, and most users will be surprised to be redirected to this film when looking for an article about the general concept. I propose renaming this one and redirecting to Speed, placing there a {{redirects here}} hatnote that links to the eponymous film. PanchoS (talk) 16:44, 28 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]

@Anarchyte, PanchoS, CookieMonster755, and Insertcleverphrasehere: What makes y'all assume that the generic term "top speed" means cars?

And look where you left the hatnote to the video game also known as Top Speed. That's gonna be harder to find now. wbm1058 (talk) 04:01, 5 June 2016 (UTC)[reply]

@Wbm1058: What makes you assume I'd fully agree with the new target? IMHO, we need a disambiguation page. --PanchoS (talk) 04:32, 5 June 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Fair enough guys... a dab page is a much better idea than what I suggested above. InsertCleverPhraseHere 05:49, 5 June 2016 (UTC)[reply]
I've created a short disambiguation page @Insertcleverphrasehere, Wbm1058, and PanchoS:. Anarchyte (work | talk) 06:19, 5 June 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Awesome. I expanded it and retargeted Top speed (with lowercase "s") to point there, too. Now we might want to move the DAB page altogether to the lowercase form. Otherwise, I guess we're done. --PanchoS (talk) 13:04, 5 June 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Not quite. Observe the {{incoming links}} tag. There are a ton of links intended for the 1930 film that need to be disambiguated now. You might be surprised at that, with an old film like this that few alive today have likely ever seen or heard of, but all the actors who appeared in the film, the directors and producers, etc. – most of them have links to the film. I'll get to work on it. WP:NAVPOPS is very helpful for this, when configured to highlight links to disambiguation in yellow. Try to get this fixed before the good folks at WP:WikiProject Disambiguation get annoyed at us ;) They generally prefer that such disambiguation is done before the page is moved, but I think it's often easier if done afterwards, as long as it's done promptly. wbm1058 (talk) 13:27, 5 June 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Wrong Laura Lee[edit]

Clicking on Laura Lee in the cast of this movie takes you to the page on Laura Lee the soul and gospel singer/songwriter, not that of the actress born in 1910. There's no disambiguation option at the top. I saw the earlier comment about disambiguation links, but I'm not sure it referred to this.
