Name section removed pending sources[edit]

Removed from article for not having any sources of any kind that I can find:

The village's unusual name is said to stem from an episode in which a store owner cheated a customer, gouging him for an extra fifty cents. Some sources claim the transaction involved a watermelon, others a rooster.

It might be worth mentioning that the Tightwad Bank is an extension of the Reading State Bank in Reading, KS, as the wiki article shows that the bank was opened in 2008, but the bank website referred to states that the bank was founded in 1900. This discrepancy may cause some confusion or distrust, and should probably be clarified.

I've rearranged, expanded, and properly referenced the subsection on Tightwad Bank. While I'm somewhat uneasy about violating Wiki policy on business advertising, I feel the unusual nature of the name and its pop culture status makes it worthy of inclusion. 64 or 69?[edit]

The former is in the opening paragraph, but the latter figure appears elsewhere. I suspect the 64 is a typo but don't know for sure. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Wschart (talkcontribs) 21:47, 31 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]
