Ok- the official remix does NOT feature Too $hort and im tired of people saying that it does!

D's[edit]

Yeah I know D's have referred to wire Daytons for a long time but D's also refer to Dubs these days.

Some of the lyrics are "Don't you see the big rims" and "Hating on a player 'cause my Lac' skate 22h,ikkybihbibiybibihbihkbihbihbihbihbk's" both can be judged as referring to Dubs, but I can't hear anything in the lyrics specifically referring to Daytons or wire rims. Also recently with the car crazes in the rap community more emphasis has been on going bigger with rims rather than the little lowrider wires. If ya boy got a Cadillac would you say put some big rims on it or put some Daytons on it, which would be most prevalent in todays trends?

Thing that made me think was that if you watch the Rich Boy video there aint a wire wheel in sight, yet there are cadillacs all through it on dubs and a large convoy of cadillacs at one point all on dubs, none of them wires. Can anyone explain that if D's in this case actually do refer to Daytons, why aren't they in the video but yet the video is full of Dubs? I don't know which one it is but the facts above don't point to Daytons in my mind. If someone says for certain it's Daytons then have they got citation quoted from the artist himself? I reckon journalists are also over confident to assume they know something they don't, so citation needs to come from Rich Boy or someone in his camp if you ask me. If someone is assuming he means Daytons when in reality he could mean Dubs then should that info be in an encyclopedia? GQsm 05:06, 14 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

This is an interesting development. A quick glance at Dayton's online store (http://www.daytonwirewheels.com/store/default.asp?categoryid=29) indicates that they sell wheels that we wouldn't consider 'wire wheels'. Perhaps Rich Boy means Dayton wheels and not necessarily Dayton wire wheels. Furthermore, it's possible for some Dayton wheels to be dubs. We might have to wait this one out and see what Rich Boy has to say. But for now, perhaps it's acceptable to say that D's traditionally refers to Dayton wire wheels, but there aren't many [wire wheels] in the video (I thought I saw one, but my resolution was crappy).--Whbstare 23:56, 15 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Yeah I seen the non wire ones but I typically think of Daytons as small wire wheels most popular on old low riders (or lawn mowers if you've seen the video for "Rap life" by Tash!) rather than new cadillacs (Which I thought was Giovanna, Lorenzo or Sprewells). I suppose it's possible Rich Boy didn't want to spend any money buying Daytons, so just got people's cars with what ever rims they happened to have on for the video. D's refers to Dubs which are not Dayton's in particular. Ask anybody around you. Not everyone buys Dayton rims yet they will refer to their large chrome wheels as dubs. So he's referring to ALL big chrome wheels.
