Medicinal Leech?[edit]

Since when is a leech an arthropod?

Non standard definition[edit]

This article should use the IUCN categories of EX EXW CR-EN, EN, VU, LC, DD, etc., rather than create a non standard one. I would suggest merging article this with Endangered species.--Wloveral (talk) 00:33, 20 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Lists of endangered arthropods[edit]

This article should include links to various official lists of Threatened and Endangered arthropods. The U.S. Fish and Wildlife service for example lists dozens of insects and arachnids under the Endangered Species Act. Other National and International bodies must have species lists that could at the very least be added as external links, if not summarized and cited in the main article.Animalparty (talk) 01:25, 13 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Update: Now that US Federal websites are open again, I have created a list of T&E arthropods recognized under the US Endangered Species act. Please see my draft List of endangered Arthropods and comment on how it should be best be incorporated into this article, e.g. as a separate list or incorporated. Thanks. Photo incorrect?[edit]

The photo of the "endangered European freshwater crayfish" needs validation. The title, "Ecrevisse a pattes blanches" translates to "Crayfish with white claws", possibly indicating Austropotamobius pallipes, but the descriptions in French and German refer to the "American crayfish" Orconectes limosus, that is not endangered. If the ID cannot be determined, a different image should be placed. --Animalparty-- (talk) 21:24, 13 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]
