I don't see where it was officially announced that this was going to be the next single. I can't find it anywhere.

24th of March and still no video. YOU'VE ALL BEEN HAD!! Dry Jacket 19:30, 24 February 2007 (UTC)Dry Jacket[reply]

This Wiki desperately needs cited references. Also, the video was released tonight around 11:00 EST. 35.11.147.121 06:05, 24 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Separated the video synopsis and video information, as well as added a few trivia points. Mizunori 13:47, 24 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Song Title[edit]

The song is called 'Tnks fr th mmrs', not 'Thnks fr th mmrs'. Is there any way of changing the headline of the article? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 91.109.146.227 (talkcontribs)

Actually, it's not.[1] But pages can be moved normally if you're a logged-in user. Madman bum and angel 22:49, 6 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]
The title of the song is "Thnks fr th Mmrs". If you need proof look at the official website for the band (http://www6.falloutboyrock.com/falloutboy/disco.php). As the article even says, it is "Thanks for the Memories" with all the vowels removed. The 'h' in 'Thanks' is not a vowel. -Kraw Night 07:52, 7 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Fair enough. Must have misread it. -91.109.146.227

Lyrics[edit]

is the lyrics section in this article necessary? PrincessOfHearts 14:01, 16 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

No, I removed them Guylikeu 15:08, 16 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Trivia[edit]

In the trivia section it states that "This is the first Fall Out Boy video since "Sugar, We're Goin Down" that doesn't feature Travis McCoy from Gym Class Heroes." However, the music video for "Carpal Tunnel Of Love" doesn't feature Travis in it. This should be changed, unless someone can find Travis somewhere in the video? Dead-In-Horrorwood 15:10, 24 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Censor?[edit]

I see the quote 'This guy's a fucking visionary.' Being censored sometimes and/or removed completely. It's a quote, unless he actually said 'F-Asterisk-Procent-Grid-ing'. Can we leave the censorship out please? This is a encyclopedia with facts. Not a encyclopedia with obscured items.

Kind regards, MisteryX 09:17, 25 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I agree, and I keep changing to the uncensored version but someone changes it backTaylorLTD 00:17, 16 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Well, I'm confused-- is the YouTube link the "unedited" version, and there's a TRL version that changes both the line and the subtitle to remove the word completely? Or is there a version where he actually says the word and the subtitle spells it out? Where I'm going is, I say we should definitely mention the punctuation marks, just casually, in the paragraph about removed words; and we should also clarify what is meant by "edited and "unedited" versions. That's all this is, by the way-- no need to get all hysterical about "censorship," we're just trying to go by what the video tells us he said. And if the YouTube version of the video is the "unedited" version, then the punctuation marks belong in the article, because he does not utter an unbleeped F-bomb. Rowsdower45 00:32, 18 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

The version of the video that I got - from the download released that night - doesn't contain the word 'fucking' at all. It has the 'light censored' random characters in it. If we're going to be accurate about this, then it needs to be the version with the symbols -- not the actual word. I'd assume that you can mention what it stands for, but I don't think that anyone needs explaining. Mizunori 02:33, 18 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

...So TaylorLTD 01:41, 25 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Are we under consensus to have the word appear as it does in the video? The symbols are in the unedited form of the video, and as such, they belong there instead of the expletive. Mizunori 12:13, 30 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I think that we should have the word appear exactly as it does in the original music video - the version as released by the band - where the word was partially censored using certain special symbols. The YouTube video from universalmusicgroup's YouTube channel is the original video, as released by the band. --Shruti14 talksign 04:16, 22 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Remix EP[edit]

How come there is no information on the remix EP of "Thnks fr th Mmrs"? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 70.174.167.81 (talk) 23:17, 16 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Probably because nobody has got around to adding that information. If you know about it, then please feel free to add the information to the article. Ultrafez (talk) 03:06, 9 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use rationale for Image:FallOutBoy-ThnksFrThMmrs.jpg[edit]

Image:FallOutBoy-ThnksFrThMmrs.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

Genre[edit]

Right, might as well actually put some reasoning down, since the person constantly making the incorrect counter-edits doesn't seem to want to. It is also worth nothing that this user has made a number of other similar edits equally contested and reverted back.

This song is not Glam Metal, not in the slightest. Anyone who knows anything about Glam Metal will confirm this, and probably think it an insult that it's even suggested. It could be seen to have -elements- of Glam Metal (though even this is highly debatable), but one or two traits of a musical genre don't put it into said genre. It has to have a significant portion.

To be labelled a certain genre, say Glam Metal, you have to listen to a song and think "Hmmm, yeah, that could be considered Glam Metal". Look at the Glam Metal article. This song does not feature power chords (to any greater degree than many other non-glam metal songs), does not feature shred solos, does not bear the basic imagery and attitude of Glam Metal, and does not have an anthemic chorus (note: catchy/memorable is not the same as anthemic).

POSSIBLY being maybe 10-20% Glam Metal in no way qualifies this song for that tag. Listen to the likes of Guns 'n' Roses, Skid Row, Buckcherry or Whitesnake, and tell me this song is in the same vein. Prophaniti (talk) 22:17, 22 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I'd like to direct both parties to WP:3RR. When incorrect information is added repeatedly, you are as much at fault for any edit wars if you repeated revert the edits; seek a third party sooner. As to the issue, it seems clear to me that the song is not glam metal, and if it is 71.176.136.81 seems unwilling to give any evidence or reasoning for it to be classed as glam metal. Further reverts by either party should be reported to Wikipedia:Administrators'_noticeboard/3RR.<Karlww (contribs|talk) 00:12, 27 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

This song is more alternative and pop rock than being called pop punk —Preceding unsigned comment added by 122.2.98.100 (talk) 14:02, 30 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Cover[edit]

I think it's worth noting that the band let this song be covered by Li'l Rockstarz when it directly refers to a "one-night stand," but didn't let Kidz Bop cover "Dance, Dance" two years earlier because it had "sexual overtones." MotherFerginPrincess (talk) 01:57, 20 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Parody[edit]

The part regarding the parody is no longer relevant. The YouTube video has been removed. 71.48.76.59 (talk) 03:03, 24 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Video[edit]

On the Believers Never Die DVD the band said some of the monkeys were actually a woman in a suit because the monkeys couldn't be taught to do some things and because people in the video wouldn't be comfortable doing some things with real monkeys. How could I add this to the article? 76.1.48.210 (talk) 21:46, 26 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Lead Introduction[edit]

I strongly suggest that this song article requires a proper lead introduction, since it is a notable song from a notable artist. Maybe consider stealing ideas from well written song pages? (eg Taylor Swift).Noreplyhaha (talk) 02:14, 21 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Music Video Section[edit]

In the music video section it says that the monkeys call the band a joke and say that they should have hired Panic! at the Disco. How do you know this? In the video they just makes monkey noises at them. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 82.0.55.12 (talk) 18:47, 17 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]

I haven't seen it in a while, but I seem to remember subtitles in the version I saw... AnonMoos (talk) 14:51, 24 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]
