Expansion Ideas[edit]

A short summary style section on each of the seven members.
More on the importance of VQ and its members to gay literature in the 12 or so years between Stonewall (1969) and the onset of AIDS (1981), or the Post-Stonewall period.
Expand the history of the literary circle or literary salon (both terms used by NYT).

Include the University of Iowa Writer's Workshop connection where three of the members met (Ferro, Grumley, Holleran).
Beginning date unclear. White says it began "by 1979", other sources say in the 1970s.
Ended when several members dispersed, including White moving to Paris in 1983.

I would suggest trying to expand each member's own page before adding a summary here perhaps. Also, can you please add the page numbers to your Bergman references?Zigzig20s (talk) 15:34, 12 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Good suggestion Zig, as a few aren't all that expanded to begin with. The Felice Picano article, as an example, is poor shape, needing a lot of copy editing and also references, so I tagged it. Sorry, CEd = Copy Edited (as CE or ce = Copy Edit); I fixed a spelling typo. As to page numbers. References to the 1994 book were from three different pages in the introduction to the book. I had to either figure out how to do that within one {{cite}} tag, or create two new citations so that each cite would point to only one page. But three {{cites}} would result in three separate entries in the references, one for each page. One cite worked because the three pages were sequential. I updated the reference in the article. The 2004 book was referenced only once, so it was easy and I did that first. Now I am reading the two books for more content to add to the article. I have other references that I'm digesting, including a great article written in 1991 by Edmund White for the New York Times Magazine that covers the VQ. In addition, I'm fixing up a DYK hook for this article. — Becksguy (talk) 08:51, 13 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Start class: I think it can be reassessed to Start class if the bottom two references could be changed to inline citations. The half inline refs and half external citations looks messy. If you embed those two, I'll reassess. Looks good. --Moni3 (talk) 12:37, 16 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
