Request For Photo of Lampkin[edit]

Lampkin is really the center of this episode, and I think a picture of him best represents it. KyuzoGator 02:27, 14 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Trivia[edit]

About survivours count: we discount the possibility that a child was born. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 87.207.252.191 (talk) 13:14, 18 March 2007 (UTC).[reply]

I've mentioned this before and no one seems to understand it. Once again, the survivor count represents the number alive at the BEGINNING of the episode - not who is killed during. It technically would spoil the episode if it did. So, those who die in THIS episode will be deducted from the count in the NEXT. That's how it works. Starbuck is the only death in the previous episode so the count dropped by one. Hughes died and possibly the marine that saved Lampkin, so the number will go down at least by one in the next episode. Requested move 7 October 2015[edit]

The following is a closed discussion of a requested move. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made in a new section on the talk page. Editors desiring to contest the closing decision should consider a move review. No further edits should be made to this section.

The result of the move request was: moved. The consensus is that there is not a clear primary topic. And while SmokeyJoe makes an interesting suggestion to merge the dabs, there was no consensus to do that, so the dab page will simply be moved to the base location. No prejudice against a future merge discussion at somewhere like WP:PM, though. Jenks24 (talk) 12:24, 27 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]

The Son Also RisesThe Son Also Rises (Battlestar Galactica) – Format used in other Battlestar Galactica episodes when the title is also used elsewhere. In this case, a notable newish book The Son Also Rises (book) shares the title. I do not think that a Galactica episode should be the primary. The book, a highly creative and widely cited piece of research that has also gotten the attention of general readers, could be the primary, or, if there does not need to be a primary, both can have these name, this name/location used as a disambigulation page. • Support moving the episode, replace at this location with the disambiguation page The Son Also Rises (disambiguation) -- 70.51.44.60 (talk) 02:47, 7 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]
  • Oppose. The episode appears to be the WP:PRIMARYTOPIC, receiving three times the page views of the book: 1969 vs. 664. This means that even if every single reader of the book's article got there by going to the base name first, there were still twice as many readers seeking the episode.--Cúchullain t/c 20:13, 15 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]
That's simply because the article is there and the other 2 TV series aren't served by a Wikipedia fan base. In ictu oculi (talk) 01:27, 20 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]
  • Support, and merge the disambiguation pages The Sun Also Rises (disambiguation), "Son" being an obvious and explicit play on "Sun" in all cases, and both dab pages being brief. --SmokeyJoe (talk) 02:39, 19 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]
  • Support moving disambiguation page to base title, because neither topic seems to win on either limb of WP:PRIMARYTOPIC:
    1. The evidence by usage is split: the TV episode gets more Wikipedia page views, but the book has about 5x as many GNews hits about it [1][2]
    2. I don't see a credible argument that the TV episode has "substantially greater enduring notability and educational value" than the book. OTOH it's probably too early for the book to demonstrate "enduring notability" either.
Mildly opposed to merging with The Sun Also Rises (disambiguation), as the spellings are clearly differentiated and mean different things. Putting mutual links in the "see also" section or in {{distinguish}} headers seems sufficient. 210.6.254.106 (talk) 08:30, 20 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]
  • I support the merge because the sun -> son substitution is a deliberate ambiguity, a metalepsis I think it is. When read, or vocalized, as per intention, there is a sun/son ambiguity tied to the ambiguity of meaning of "rise". Disambiguation of rising suns and rising sons is best done on the same page. --SmokeyJoe (talk) 06:52, 27 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]
