Gushing

Anyone else agree that the song by song description smacks of a fan's gushing? I mean, 'stunning falsetto'? I love the album too, but come on. :P 136.186.1.199 22:47, 14 November 2006 (UTC)

Absolutely agreed, so I put some NPOV signs up, also it fails to cite its sources, so I've made note of that. Nervousbreakdance 01:29, 4 December 2006 (UTC)
Yeah. Do album pages even need song-by-song descriptions? I figure a description of a few sentences, chart position, and a track listing would be enough...64.81.146.219 23:22, 1 January 2007 (UTC)

Extra tracks? (Japanese CD verson)

Seems the Japanese version of this album has some extra songs... See: [1] The extra tracks are:

But I didn't find anything on others pages that shows it's true... Could anyone (fan?) check it?

"Heaven Knows I'm Miserable Now" was released as a singe in the UK and that different "Hands In Glove" version was released in the single with the same name, I think. I don't know about "These Things Take Time" song... Where was it released in the UK? Those songs are really with the Japanese version of "The Smiths" CD?

Fair use rationale for Image:The-Smiths-cover.png

Image:The-Smiths-cover.png is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 06:14, 6 June 2007 (UTC)

New Wave?

the smiths were the anti-new wave. 188.222.41.105 (talk) 21:58, 31 January 2011 (UTC)

"Cover" section

The sleeve art desperately needs to be talked about. It is so ahead of its time, just look at modern indie rock/indie pop album covers. It also needs to be talked about the cover's importance and whatnot. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.151.123.87 (talk) 07:19, 13 February 2011 (UTC)
