Screen Shots[edit]

Does anyone have a way to add some images from the movie to the page? Possibly some pictures of the characters, the sandlot itself, etc. EmilyELewis (talk) 21:08, 12 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Reception[edit]

The "Reception" section is a little lacking, not to much a little weasely. I'm going to delete it within a day unless someone can dig up a few sources for the claims. DudleyScardsdale 02:18, 24 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Harry Shearer[edit]

The Main Story[edit]

Mr. Mertel played for the Yankees?[edit]

This article states that Mr. Mertle played for the Yankees, but I believe that is wrong. I could have sworn that when he shows a picture to the kids of him and Babe Ruth, he's wearing a uniform with a "P" on it. I think he supposedly played in the Negro leagues (which makes sense, seeing as Jackie Robinson didn't play in the Majors until 1947). That also explains why he said he would have broken Ruth's homerun record, had he not gone blind (breaking it in another league). It also explains why the kids have no idea who he is, instead of being a famous ball player. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 65.112.98.186 (talk) 21:19, 6 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

The negro leagues is a good theory, but it looked to me like the Pittsburgh Pirates logo. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 69.179.31.79 (talk) 03:58, 1 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Starring[edit]

Many of the major characters were not included in the starring section for the movie template. Please add them and also I don't think James Earl Jones qualifies as starring. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 151.198.251.170 (talk) 01:19, 7 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

No References[edit]

  • I couldn't help but notice that this article hasn't a single reference (the "unreferenced" tag has been up there since 2006). Also: The plot summary is rather large. Perhaps someone can pare it down and get some references for the article? bwmcmaste (talk) 05:52, 26 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Anniversary and reunion[edit]

Anyone think that the 20th anniversary gathering for the movie and reunion at the actual sandlot where it was filmed in Utah is mention worthy...?

Sandlot Reunion --Scalhotrod - Just your average banjo playing, drag racing, cowboy... (talk) 16:32, 24 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

I don't think there are too many films that have this kind of interpersonal celebration of its anniversary, so I would be fine with mention of it. The actual anniversary was last April, so we could include this too. It says, "To mark the 20th anniversary of the film, 20th Century Fox put out a special edition Blu-ray of "The Sandlot" with collectible baseball cards of the characters. There's also an anniversary tour in which the film will be shown at baseball stadiums around the country (now through September, the first one is Saturday in New Jersey)." So that is even wider context for covering the anniversary. Erik (talk | contribs) 16:43, 24 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Cast list in infobox[edit]

As far as I can tell, the poster does not have a billing block, or any other indication of who the stars are. Therefore, there is no basis for a cast list in the infobox. ---The Old JacobiteThe '45 18:01, 6 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Maintenance tag removal?[edit]

The reason given in the tag is: This article is full of bad grammar and misused words. I think the issues have been resolved -- the tag was added when the article looked quite different. Is it OK to remove the tag now? -- UKoch (talk) 01:08, 11 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, please do. ------The Old JacobiteThe '45 01:27, 11 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Done. Thanks for your input! -- UKoch (talk) 17:13, 17 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]
